Mongolia

In Mongolia carpet making has been heavily influenced by Tibetan culture due to early trade and cultural exchange with Tibet. Since Mongolians were in sitting in the saddle half of their lives many saddle blankets were made in Mongolia. Mongolian rugs can be traced back into the 13th century due to paintings of the Sung Dynasty in which Mongolian rugs have been imaged. Altogether Mongolian rugs have strong colors and beautiful stylized symbol motifs, they are valuabel rarities.
