More about the provenance Mashad Beloutch, ca. 1920 | Iran
Mashad-Belouch are tribal/nomadic rugs, the Belouches being made between Mashad and Kerman are called Mashad-Belouch. Mashad-Belouches as opposed to Afghan- or Herat-Belouches are in general finer and of better quality, therefore the term Mashad-Belouch is also often used as a quality ranking. Due to the fine wool foundation Mashad-Belouches are quite flexible in their touch. Sizes are mostly between 0.50 and 2.50 sqm.
