Semnan is located in Central Iran 220 km East of Teheran at the street towards Mashad. Finely woven rugs were and are being made in Semnan in the spirit of Mashad. A red ground color which shifts towards purple is typical for a Semnan, mostly designed with a medallion. Semnan belongs to the finer Persian provenances.
