Sivas is located in East Anatolia (Turkey). The rugs from Sivas distinguish themselves mainly through their high quality wool and very thorough weaving, which makes the Sivas one of the most valuable Anatolian rugs. CIty and region have developed their own original design creations, e.g. the very accurately drawn carnation flower.

This Oriental rug has a so called "open design". Any rug in which the medallion is surrounded by a large area of a plain one-colored field and if at all have corner patterns within the field. The open design is currently experiencing a come back and became very popular.
